Being "cultured" sometimes is thought to mean having a good education,
a good upbringing, various skills and knowledge. In other words,
only a small proportion of human beings would be cultured, in this sense.
Dolce was no doubt saying that this simple, creative, appropriate and reflective
utterance of the uneducated peasant was "culture" at its best.
